Role Overview
We are seeking a highly creative and versatile Design Lead. As a Design Lead, you will lead a team of artists on a confidential sketch-focused project supporting advanced AI model development. You will be responsible for driving project execution, ensuring high-quality outputs, mentoring team members, and maintaining delivery timelines. This role requires a strong foundation in design principles, sketching, and visual communication, along with the ability to translate project requirements into clear, actionable guidance for the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading, mentoring, or managing a team of designers, illustrators, or artists.
- Design Expertise: Strong understanding of sketching, illustration, visual structure, composition, proportions, and detail accuracy.

- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to resolve execution challenges efficiently.

Description
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the successful execution of a confidential design project. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing a team of artists working on sketch-related tasks.
- Interpreting project guidelines and translating them into clear, actionable instructions for the team.
- Reviewing sketches for quality, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project standards.
- Identifying recurring issues and providing coaching and feedback to improve team performance.
- Supporting junior artists in producing clean, accurate, and high-quality work.
- Monitoring project progress, resolving blockers, and ensuring timely delivery of tasks.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders and participating in client discussions when required.
- Adapting quickly to project updates, feedback, and changing requirements.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality and following all project data privacy guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, Illustration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in design leadership, creative production, illustration, sketching, or visual quality assurance.
- Experience working on AI training data, annotation, creative review, or large-scale visual production projects is preferred.
- Experience managing remote or distributed creative teams is a plus.
