Role Overview:
We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong German language expertise to support text and image annotation programs that require high linguistic accuracy and cultural nuance. The role focuses on defining annotation standards, ensuring data quality, and bridging business requirements with language-focused data work.
Your role is critical in helping fine-tune and improve large language models (like GPT), and will make you an expert on how to leverage AI to be a better analyst. This is your chance to future-proof your career in an AI-first world!
What does day-to-day look like:
- Review and annotate text, image and video captions to ensure they are contextually accurate, grammatically correct, and strictly aligned with the content guidelines.
- Quality assurance: Assess AI-generated outputs for accuracy, depth, and rigor.
- Pinpoint where models fail to reason correctly and provide expert corrections.
- Maintain clear, organized records of tasks, solutions, and evaluations.
- Analyze captions and inconsistencies or areas for improvement in captioning and provide detailed feedback.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams or follow guidelines to maintain high-quality standards in caption annotation and content accuracy.
Requirements:
- Multilingual capabilities are mandatory. (English and German)

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or undergraduate in Engineering, Literature, Journalism, Communications, Arts, Statistics, or a related field. We are open to candidates who do not have a Bachelor's degree but have experience in the area.
- Background in linguistics, translation, localization, or language-focused data work.
- Experience with business analysis, data annotation, linguistic analysis, or localization-focused roles.
- Hands-on experience with German text and/or image annotation workflows.
- Experience defining annotation guidelines, taxonomies, and quality standards.
- Native or near-native proficiency in German, including idiomatic usage and regional variations.
- Strong command of English for documentation and stakeholder communication.
- Ability to accurately translate and contextualize requirements between German and English.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product, data, and engineering.
- Experience supporting AI or machine learning training datasets.
