Python Backend Developer
Turing is looking for Python Backend Developers to join our Digital & Technology team, building backend systems, data pipelines, and LLM-powered automation workflows that bring financial data to life across internal and client-facing platforms. The right candidate combines strong engineering craft with comfort around financial data and the communication skills to work across business and technical teams.
Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain Python-based backend services, APIs, and data pipelines; manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases (schema design, query optimization, migrations) in collaboration with data engineers and analysts.
Process Automation & AI: Build and operate LLM-powered automation workflows with human-in-the-loop review for edge cases, defining escalation logic and audit trails so every automated decision is explainable; partner with product/ops to identify and engineer automation opportunities.
Finance & Data: Apply working knowledge of financial concepts (cash flows, valuations, portfolio metrics, lease accounting) to build systems that handle financial data correctly, validate pipeline integrity, and support finance/investment teams with reporting tooling.
DevOps & Infrastructure: Own the full development lifecycle — local dev through CI/CD to production — using Git, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP); monitor system health, manage incident response, and contribute to infrastructure-as-code standards.
Collaboration & Communication: Translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders, write clear documentation, and act as a trusted technical partner — asking the right questions and pushing back when requirements are unclear.
Skill
What We Are Looking For
Python
Strong proficiency for backend development, APIs, and data processing; familiarity with FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
PostgreSQL
Hands-on experience with query optimization, indexing, schema design, and ORMs (SQLAlchemy or equivalent).
LLM Automation & Human-in-the-Loop
Practical experience building LLM-powered workflows (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source) with prompt engineering, agent frameworks (LangChain or similar), review queues, confidence scoring, and escalation logic.
Finance Background
Working knowledge of financial concepts relevant to commercial real estate or capital markets — valuations, lease terms, cash flows, portfolio/fund reporting.
DevOps
Proficiency with Git, CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP); IaC experience is a plus.
7+ years in backend software development, ideally with exposure to commercial real estate, investment management, or financial services.
Familiarity with vector databases, RAG pipelines, multi-agent orchestration, or workflow automation tooling for business operations.
In the first 90 days, you will have shipped at least one production-grade automation that replaces or accelerates a manual process. Within six months, you will own a core service end-to-end — from design through monitoring — with readable code, current documentation, and pull requests that spark useful conversations.
Don't miss out on this job opportunity!
