Role Overview:
We are seeking highly skilled and motivated mathematicians with a strong understanding of intermediate to advanced mathematical concepts and the ability to apply these concepts creatively to complex problems. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in tackling challenging questions and have a passion for deep mathematical reasoning and problem-solving. We are hiring both individuals who are strong in undergraduate level mathematics and as well as those who are strong in masters/PhD level mathematics. Turing works with most of the leading LLM companies in the world today and your work will enable today’s leading LLMs to attain advanced mathematics proficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and apply advanced mathematical models and computational techniques to solve complex problems in various mathematical domains.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to contribute to research projects, offering mathematical insight and expertise.
Engage with the latest mathematical literature, including cutting-edge research papers.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelors/masters/PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field, with a strong emphasis on one or more of the following areas: computable functions and mathematical logic, algebra and number theory, linear algebra and matrix theory, topology and geometry, real analysis, probability and statistics.
Demonstrated ability to solve complex mathematical problems, evidenced by a track record of research, publications, or projects.
Python and data analysis are desirable but not mandatory.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex mathematical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
A collaborative mindset, with experience working in multidisciplinary teams on research or project-based work.
More details on required skills:
You need to be strong in at least 4 of the 7 topics below. More the better.
Computable Functions and Mathematical Logic: Understanding the theory of computation, including computable functions, decision problems, and strategies for guessing functions based on inputs and outputs.
Algebra and Number Theory: Knowledge of quadratic forms, signatures, prime numbers, and Eisenstein series, requiring a deep understanding of algebraic structures, number theory, and their applications.
Linear Algebra and Matrix Theory: Familiarity with bases in linear spaces, symmetric matrices, and matrix equations, as well as the ability to perform matrix diagonalization and understand rank conditions.
Topology and Geometry: Understanding of vector bundles, cohomology, the fundamental group, and the concept of commensurability, requiring knowledge in topological spaces, vector fields, and geometric proofs.
Analysis: Proficiency in real analysis, including understanding the properties of functions almost everywhere, and the ability to work with different types of convergence and continuity.
Probability and Statistics: Skills in applying probability theory to determine the likelihood of events under certain conditions, and using statistical methods like ANOVA to analyze experimental data.
Applied Mathematics: Ability to apply mathematical principles to solve practical problems, such as determining stock availability using logic puzzles, which involves reasoning and problem-solving skills.
