About Turing:
Turing is one of the world’s fastest-growing AI companies, accelerating the advancement and deployment of powerful AI systems.
Turing helps customers in two ways: Working with the world’s leading AI labs to advance frontier model capabilities in thinking, reasoning, coding, agentic behavior, multimodality, multilinguality, STEM, and frontier knowledge; and leveraging that work to build real-world AI systems that solve mission-critical priorities for companies.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Statistician or Data Analyst with advanced hands-on experience in jamovi or JASP. The role involves building realistic statistical analysis environments to benchmark AI models on hypothesis testing, quantitative modeling, regression, ANOVA, and research reporting. The expert will create research datasets, execute reference analyses, define numerical verification criteria, and validate generated statistical tasks.
Applications and Toolchain
jamovi, JASP, JMP, SPSS, R, the jmv package, and R syntax mode
Key Responsibilities
- Map statistical workflows, including descriptive analysis, hypothesis testing, regression, ANOVA/ANCOVA, non-parametric testing, reliability analysis, and visualization.
- Create realistic research assets, including unclean survey datasets, clinical trial tables, psychological assessment data, and study-design briefs.
- Perform end-to-end statistical analyses in jamovi or JASP and record reference execution traces.
- Define numerical verification criteria for p-values, test statistics, effect sizes, regression coefficients, and APA-style summary tables.
- Review statistical tasks for accuracy, solvability, methodological appropriateness, and completeness.
- Explain why a statistical model, data transformation, assumption test, or post-hoc analysis is technically correct.
Job Requirements
- Professional experience in statistics, biostatistics, quantitative research, psychometrics, or data analytics.
- Mandatory hands-on experience with jamovi or JASP, or strong experience with JMP or SPSS.
- Strong knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics.
- Experience with t-tests, ANOVA, ANCOVA, MANOVA, linear regression, logistic regression, Mann-Whitney tests, and Kruskal-Wallis tests.
- Understanding of assumption testing, including Shapiro-Wilk normality tests and Levene’s homogeneity-of-variance test.
- Knowledge of model diagnostics, effect sizes, post-hoc testing, and statistical interpretation.
- Ability to validate statistical results with mathematical and numerical precision.
- Familiarity with APA-style statistical reporting and publication-quality tables and plots.
- Clear written English for creating unambiguous statistical research briefs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using R syntax mode in jamovi or JASP.
- Familiarity with the
jmv package or R code mode. - Experience validating results across jamovi, JASP, JMP, and SPSS.
- Knowledge of statistical data cleaning and transformation workflows.
- Experience with research, clinical, psychological, or survey datasets.
Engagement Details
- Engagement Type: Hourly.
- Duration: 5 weeks.
- Location: Remote.
- Start Date: As soon as possible.
- Extension: Potential for extension based on project requirements.
