About Turing:
Based in San Francisco, California, Turing is the world’s leading research accelerator for frontier AI labs and a trusted partner for global enterprises deploying advanced AI systems. Turing supports customers in two ways: first, by accelerating frontier research with high-quality data, advanced training pipelines, plus top AI researchers who specialize in coding, reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, multimodality, and agents; and second, by applying that expertise to help enterprises transform AI from proof of concept into proprietary intelligence with systems that perform reliably, deliver measurable impact, and drive lasting results on the P&L
Role Overview:
In this role, you will be working on projects to help fine-tune large language models (like ChatGPT) using your strong analytical and english comprehension skills The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in Chemistry, comparable to the level required for PhD-level programs. You should be able to break down complex chemistry problems into simple, clear explanations and work efficiently. The projects will also help you learn how to leverage AI to be a better analyst. This is your chance to future-proof your career in an AI-first world!
Responsibilities:
- Solve a variety of advanced chemistry problems, including postgraduate-level questions, and create detailed explanations.
- Work with diverse chemistry content, combining text with images, chemical equations, diagrams, and visual representations.
- Analyze and explain complex organic reaction mechanisms using both textual explanations and annotated chemical structures.
- Solve chemical equilibrium problems with visual representations (e.g., reaction progress, energy diagrams) and explain them using both text and visuals.
- Tackle challenging problems in stoichiometry, thermodynamics, organic chemistry, and electrochemistry (e.g., engineering entrance or college-level), using a mix of textual, visual, and diagrammatic explanations.
Required Qualifications:
- Candidates with a Master’s or Ph.D., or those currently pursuing a Ph.D./Postdoctoral degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates should be proficient in at least three of the following tools: GROMACS, LAMMPS, Psi4, PySCF, xtb, crest, Multiwfn, Cantera, CoolProp, NWChem, PyBaMM, RDKit, and Open Babel.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations.
- Creative and lateral thinking abilities.
- Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills in a remote setting.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Access to a desktop/laptop with a reliable internet connection.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex chemistry problems with a structured, logical approach.
- Ability to explain chemistry concepts clearly using simple language, visuals, and simulations where needed.
