LLM Trainer - Video annotation specialist (Non-code position)

Role Overview:
This position is within a project with one of the foundational LLM companies. The goal is to assist these foundational LLM companies in enhancing their Large Language Models.

One way we help these companies improve their models is by providing them with high-quality proprietary data. This data serves two main purposes: first, as a basis for fine-tuning their models, and second, as an evaluation set to benchmark the performance of their models or competitor models.

For this role, you will contribute by carefully annotating short video clips of robots performing various tasks. These annotations will map robotic actions to human-readable descriptions, supporting the training and evaluation of LLMs for robotics and embodied AI systems.

What does day-to-day look like:

• Watch short robotic task videos in full before annotating.
• Identify the main objective of the robot’s task as well as the smaller steps it takes.
• Summarize what happened in the video, noting whether the task succeeded, partially succeeded, or failed, and highlight any errors or inefficiencies.
• Provide timestamped annotations that describe, in detail, each robot movement in the video.
• Ensure annotations adhere strictly to structured guidelines to maintain consistency across datasets.
• Review and refine annotations based on feedback to improve accuracy and clarity.

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured guidelines.
• Clear written communication skills in English.
• Comfort with repetitive, precision-focused work.
• Ability to differentiate between successful, partial, and failed task execution.
• Prior experience in data annotation, transcription, or quality assurance is a plus but not required.

What success looks like:

• Delivering consistent, accurate annotations across tasks.
• Capturing both the “what” (intent and actions) and the “how” (quality of execution) of robot tasks.
• Contributing to a gold-standard dataset that supports robotics and AI training.

Offer Details:

• Commitments Required: At least 4 hours per day and minimum 20 hours per week with overlap of 4 hours with PST. 
• Engagement Type: Contractor assignment (no medical/paid leave)
• Duration of Contract: 2 months (adjustable based on engagement)
• Location: India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, Bangladesh, Turkey, Brazil, Mexico

Evaluation Process (approximately 30 mins):
Candidates will be asked to complete two sample video annotation tasks (offline through Vetsmith). The combined time to complete these tasks is expected to be around 30 minutes.
