Role Overview

We are seeking a Sr. Python Engineer who will design, build, and optimize scalable APIs, collaborate with researchers and engineers, and deliver high-quality backend services.

What does day-to-day life look like?

• Collaborate with ML engineers to expose APIs for training, evaluation, and benchmarking.
• Write efficient, production-grade Python code with a strong emphasis on scalability and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot performance issues, optimize pipelines, and ensure smooth deployment of applications.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in Python development, 
• Proven ability to review code, provide constructive feedback, and merge PRs to ensure consistency, reliability, and adherence to engineering standards.
• Strong track record of identifying and mitigating risks early, coupled with a deep sense of ownership and accountability across the full software development lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience in designing and maintaining RESTful APIs, implementing asynchronous programming, and managing the complete API lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and scalable design patterns.
• Familiarity with NumPy and Pandas; exposure to PyTorch or TensorFlow is a plus.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Offer Details

• Commitments Required: At least 4 hours per day and minimum 20 hours per week with overlap of 4 hours with PST. 
• Engagement Type: Contractor assignment (no medical/paid leave)
• Duration of Contract: 3 months (adjustable based on engagement)
• Location: India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, Bangladesh, Turkey, Brazil, Mexico

• Technical Interview with live coding challege focused on Python (60 mins)
