Math & Python Specialist (Scientific Computation)

Role Overview:

Turing is hiring a team of highly qualified Math and Python specialists to support a computation-intensive scientific coding project for a global client. This role requires strong mathematical foundations, hands-on experience with numerical methods, and the ability to translate complex mathematical concepts into clean, testable Python code.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement mathematical problems and algorithms for scientific computational tasks. 
• Write efficient Python code using SciPy and related numerical libraries. 
• Design and execute mathematical test cases to validate correctness and performance. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to refine requirements and ensure mathematical accuracy. 
• Document methods, assumptions, and results clearly and professionally.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field. 
• Intermediate-level expertise in Python, with practical experience in scientific computing. 
• Working knowledge of SciPy and numerical computation workflows. 
• Demonstrated ability to create mathematical test cases in Python. 
• Academic or practical experience with Numerical Approximation.

Good to have:

• Familiarity with Google Colab for collaborative coding. 
• Ability to write and format mathematical content using LaTeX. 
• Strong technical writing skills. 
• Clear and effective communication in a remote environment.

Offer Details:

• Commitments Required : At least 4 hours per day and minimum 20 hours per week with overlap of 4 hours with PST. (We have 3 options of time commitment: 20 hrs/week, 30 hrs/week or 40 hrs/week)
• Engagement type : Contractor assignment/freelancer (no medical/paid leave)
